GM - Cars made in Sweden, info from Konditori 100

Year and place: 1920-19??, Stockholm

From the 1920s General Motors had a large assembly plant in Stockholm, with at the most 1.300 employees. Opel, Chevrolet, Bedford and Vauxhall were put together here, both private cars and trucks. Among the cars assembled here was the first Opel Olympia in Sweden, finished in October 1949.

During World War II it was a shortage of among others petrol, and it was not easy to keep the business going.

So, like some motorcycle companies in Sweden they produced electric 3-wheeled 'cars'. The front wheel was mounted like on a motorcycle, while the rear had a kind of body. Most of them were built for cargo, but some had a back seat for two passengers.

This Typ ELC10 FL from GM Nordiska AB was built in 1942. A sign at the driver seat tells that the top speed in populated areas are 40 km/h, elsewhere 50 km/h.

Runs with an electric engine in 1999 too.

And in 2000, with suitable dressed driver.

Another 1942, equipped with a rear seat.

Production of a large electric truck was planned, and some prototypes were constructed, but serie production wasn't started.
