Soviet war plans for Sweden

When the war ended between Finland and the Soviet Union on 12 March 1940, one Soviet condition was that Finland should extend the railway from Kemijärvi to the Soviet Murmansk railway. Finland should also permit free transit of goods through Finland to and from Sweden. This was not recived well in Sweden, but seen as a gun pointing towards Sweden. [s10]

The Soviet Union's Baltic Sea fleet had their first large exercise on 30 July - 1 August 1940. One destroyer group had the task of mining the fairways to Stockholm. The other opposing nations were probably Finland and Germany. [s59]
